The shoes that can take you from tourist to local

All travellers are keen to avoid looking like tourists and easyJet is making it that much easier.  The “Sneakairs” prototype smart shoes vibrate to provide wearers with directions around their destination.

Could this mean an end to holding up the free information maps against the wind, constantly asking for directions in English because your guidebook doesn’t have the translation for “where is the nearest place to buy postcards?” or spending so long looking for a museum that it’s closed by the time you arrive?

This traveller hopes so.
